5 tips for cleaning and maintaining your glasses

If you treat your glasses properly they can last longer. Therefore, we have gathered 5 tips on how to clean and maintain your glasses. If you have further questions regarding the maintenance of your glasses, please contact your local CrossEyes store.

  • Never use hot water or solvents such as acetone, benzine or glass cleaner. This can ruin your advanced coating. The lenses are best cleaned with the solutions your optometrist recommends.
  • Use a cleaning cloth made of microfiber to remove dirt and grime on your lenses. Avoid using paper towels, napkins or other textiles made with coarse fibers as this can scratch the lenses.
  • Use both hands when you take your glasses off to avoid bending the temples and making them lean. If your glasses need adjustment, please visit your local CrossEyes store where our personnel are ready to help you out.
  • Always store your glasses in their case. In this way, neither the frame nor the lenses are damaged when you are not wearing your glasses.
  • Avoid extreme and sudden temperature changes as this may have a negative effect on the lenses and coatings. Avoid leaving your glasses in e.g. the windshield of the car or anywhere else where the temperature may be high – especially during the summer.
